Wrought Iron

The term wrought iron when used to describe scrolled spirals of strip  steel, used to fill an open space is inaccurate and should be refered to  as wrought ironwork, or scrollwork as wrought iron describes the  material not the process. The finest surviving wrought ironwork panel made in the wrought  ironwork tradition is the Hereford Screen designed and manufactured in  the Victorian Gothic style by George Gilbert Scott in 1862 and  incorporated glass, wooden panels and over 5 tons of wrought iron. The  screen can be seen fully restored at Hereford Cathedral.  I try to maintain that tradition in wrought ironwork in design and  manufacture of custom made quality wrought ironwok with the same  care, attention to detail and skill.
